Family History

Due to the historic nature of the village and its ancient settlements, Yetholm proves a very popular place for those seeking information on family names and occupations. With the travelling associations, families soon became spread out across the Borders and many passed through the village at some stage in life.

If you are researching a family tree and believe that your family has had a connection with the village in the past, then we can perhaps lend assistance to trace some of the more recent family names.

Unfortunately, we cannot personally undertake any physical searches but records of burials and churchyard inscriptions are freely available on the internet and there are several excellent books which can provide more details of family names in the Borders.
