Welcome to Yetholm Online!

Welcome to Yetholm OnLine...

....A village community web-site which is the culmination of a long term project by Yetholm Community Council, with assistance from the Scottish Borders Community Support Fund and Awards for All. This site is operated by, and on behalf of Yetholm Community Council.

For those who have not heard of us, Yetholm actually consists of two small villages - Kirk Yetholm and Town Yetholm - straddling the Bowmont River and nestling in the Cheviot foothills about 1 mile from the English/Scottish border. The name Yetholm is actually derived from the old Scots tongue - Yett being a gateway or entrance and Holm being a small park or field.

Today, both Kirk Yetholm and Town Yetholm are thriving rural communities, with an active population of young and old and more than one claim to fame against our name !
Please feel free to explore the remainder of the site for a fascinating tour of life in and around our village - past and present!
